We are a team of 6 people from various fields of art and design. One thing that brought us all together was art and the belief that art can liberate us.
Give a brief info about your startup?
We are ELYSIANS360, a creative studio located at Kochi. We have been in creative field for couple of years now, expanding ourselves to all kinds of art mediums for marketing & strategizing ideas. For us Art can solve everything, so we do advertising, experiment with branding, explore new possibilities in redefining spaces & interior designing and occasionally treat our heart and soul with a mega canvas of graffiti. Out an out we are a 360 creative studio.
What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?
ELYSIANS360 meets all kinds of creative needs of yours, from a simple sketch to completed interior. People are unaware as to where to go for their creative needs and we act as a one stop solution for all your creative needs.
Elysians is the creative companion for your business. I usually believe that I could do much more than be just regular person. I wanted to do something that is fulfilling, a creative space that you can come in and discuss about your ideas, where we build a team with common goal to make it a better. My belief is that if you are doing something from your heart, people will follow you.
Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?
I grew up in Coimbatore till the age of 10, where my father had his own business, and later moved to Kerala.
During summer holidays we used to visit our father’s ancestral home in Cherthala, where I got inspired watching my uncle Mr. Sajeev draw and paint for comics. I used to see him in his room sitting stooped over the table, carefully drawing for these small columns.
In 2013, I graduated from Media Village, Changanaserri in Animation and Graphic Designing, later worked at Backbench animation studio for one year where it all started. It is one of the best experience a beginner can get in this field and that’s when I started to take things seriously and realized what I wanted do in life.
Before Elsysians360 happened I had another company, a creative agency that I started with my friends from college. The company was a success and ran smooth for 2.5 years, after which many went to pursue their dreams in movies and some moved abroad. However the entrepreneurial bug in my mind was still active which made me start ELYSIANS 360.
Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?
We are located at Kacheripady, Kochi, in a small studio space.
Kochi is like the a fertile land. Everything will grow here. The city has everything to offer like labour, space, talent, fame and recognition. The infrastructure and the availability of aspiring talents has helped us a lot and made us believe that we can do this.
As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?
Particularly I am not a person who gets paranoid about anything. Every day there would be something to worry about but I feel that comes as a part and parcel of business or start up. To me business means finding solutions for problems and plan for a better future. I am not worried about it as I chose this path, hence I try to take things positively.
Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?
If you start to compare yourself with others you will be spending most of your time doing that.
Everyone is doing what they do best and there is no need to compete against anyone as I believe there are no losers in business. We need to cheer for each other, appreciate one another’s work genuinely. We don’t think of ourselves inferior nor superiors to our contemporaries. We believe we are doing our best and get to learn a lot from others. We feel happy when a good work is produced by anyone.
Having said that, to stay in business one should always be aware and updated on latest trends and technology.
How hard is it to have a work-life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?
In reality this is not my first start up. I took a lot of learning from my last one. However starting again from scratch wasn’t easy either.
Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If no then please tell us if you’re looking to raise?
No, I haven’t raised funding for my business. But I am planning to raise fund for some of my future projects.
What’s the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?
The biggest misconception people have is that they mistake us for just another creative studio. What makes us stand out is that we offer end to end solutions to our clients. Logo, branding, interior, website are a few among them. We are a mixed bag of talent and you can choose one or take the whole bag.
What gets you excited about this company?
When you work for your vision, it is always exciting. For me making an art community by helping individuals follow their passion gives me a lot of satisfaction. Every night before going to sleep what matters the most is that I worked towards my dream.
Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.
My life revolves around my office and work. On a typical day, I reach office at 8 in the morning and leaves by 8 or 9 in the night. Sometimes I extend till 3-4 am to finish some urgent work. Working is better than sitting idle.
Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?
My strength is my fellow mates. We are a team of 6 people from various fields of art and design. We have artists, animators, photographers, designers and writers. With their own expert medium they narrate and help others tell their story. One thing that brought us all together was art and the belief that art can liberate us.
